Human beings are very creative and and social oriented. Humans are not resources or commodities as typically referenced by modern analysis. It is important to note that human beings bring much more than "work" to any productive enterprise. People bring their creativity, character, social connections and ethics to their workplace.
Corporate culture is a term that is often used to characterize this type of process. Human resources is a narrow term that identifies the hiring and firing function as well as the job description in the workforce. It does not encompass all that can be said about the human being contribution.
